The amount of information about food, travel and language is already colossal and it’s growing all the time. But it’s also spread across multiple platforms, searches, lists and folders. Searching for this kind of information from home is already overwhelming – actually applying it on your travels, in real world situations, is almost impossible.
Don’t waste your precious travel time switching between multiple apps and translation tools. Instead, allow YumWords to instantly and effortlessly explain your options, along with genuinely useful explanations, tips and personalised prompts, and enjoy the experience of navigating new and unfamiliar menus with assurance; you will likely be rewarded with an excellent meal, after all.
As a husband-and-wife development team, we have been eating our way across Asia since 19TK, using food as a way of connecting with people and places as we go.
But like many travellers, we still found ourselves switching between translation apps, restaurant reviews and local blog posts every time. We didn’t want to waste a single meal – but still feared choosing at random and getting it “wrong.”
YumWords was built on our latest trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand – born out of a desire to improve our own dining experiences and try new dishes by demystifying the ordering process and making unfamiliar menus feel exciting rather than intimidating. We want to help our fellow curious travellers do the same.
The YumWords apps are still evolving, and we’re always interested to hear ideas, suggestions and feedback from like-minded travellers who are seeking food, language and local discovery together in one simple experience.
